Margaret Thompson Memorial Trophy

After the sudden sad loss of Margaret Thompson in November 2008, Ventnor Yacht Club has decided to remember her through a silver plaque to be placed on the wall in the Spyglass Inn above the Shanklin trophy.

Margaret and her husband Roy were founder members of the Ventnor Yacht Club and keen sailors. Her family has been consulted and are delighted that we should wish to do this.

It has been suggested that the trophy be awarded to the first boat across the line at Ventnor on the opening run from Shanklin. However, we will leave this to the discretion of your sailing committee.

We hope that as many boats as possible will take part in this inaugural event.
